Carlos Vera, M.D.

Dr. Vera is a Colorado Native, as well as a Regis High School and Regis College Graduate. He received his medical training at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, and completed his residency at Saginaw Cooperative Hospitals Inc in the Department of Family Practice. During his last year of training he was one of two Chief Residents.

After his residency, Dr Vera practiced medicine in rural Nebraska. While there, he was Chief of Medical Staff at Ogallala Community Hospital. Five years later, he left to join and teach residents at St. Anthony’s Family Medicine Residency Program in Denver, Colorado.

In April 2006 he completed further training to become a medical consultant for the Creighton Model System of Natural family planning through the Pope Paul VI institute and Creighton University. With this training he works with patients who want an alternative to contraception and for those with fertility issues.

Memberships: Diplomat of the American Board of Family Practice, Colorado Medical Society, Clear Creek Medical Society.

Languages: Fluent in English and Spanish

Certifications: Certified in Colorado and Nebraska

Years in Practice: 17 yrs (as of 2010)

Family: Married with four children

Extracurricular activities: Coaches Baseball and is involved Scouting at a Leadership level, enjoys snow skiing and watching movies- He mostly enjoys being with his family.
